One of the Oldest Brush Plating Applications

In the Pulp and Paper industry there are literally thousands of pumps, motors, rollers, bearing housings, and shafts that are subject to constant wear, damage and corrosion. Brush plating is one of the oldest applications in this industry, and it remains a go-to repair method for keeping paper machines running.

Direct damage on highly polished calendar rolls can be repaired in place, eliminating the need to remove them and helping to minimize downtime losses. Precision build-ups on the ID bearing fits and the cast iron heads of suction rolls are another example of the diversity of the process. Other applications include corrosion protection from chloride gases, using a specially designed gold/rhodium/gold layered coating to protect stators and electrical connections.
